Located on two major migration routes, the Mississippi and Atlantic flyways, Manitoba has the advantage of playing host to birds from east and west. Over 400 species, almost three-quarters of all species in Canada, are found within the borders of our spectacular province. Every region of the province offers exciting birding experiences.

Manitoba boasts over 50 provincial parks, 38 designated Important Bird Areas and hundreds more outstanding bird watching spots. Our two national parks, Riding Mountain and Wapusk offer some of the best birding in the province. Many of Manitoba’s most popular birding sites feature facilities built to improve the bird watching experience.
