Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park

Swoop in for the day and stay the night

Cross a watery casueway to reach the limestone cliffs, silica sand beaches and marshes of Hecla/Grindstone- a provincial park made up of a series of islands between the east and west shores of Lake Winnipeg. Take in Grassy Narrows Marsh, one of Manitoba’s finest, readily accessible and featuring over 60 bird species. Peer for moose through a spottng scope on the viewing tower at the marsh’s edge. Follow the Black Wolf Trail to the northern tip of Hecla for a distant look at colonial nesting birds on nearby islands.
