Skip over to Lockport for an ice cream cone and the entertaining sight of people competing with American White Pelicans for the Red River’s abundant fish. Celebrated equally for its channel catfish and as a feeding area for American White Pelicans, Lockport is also rich in First Nations history. Cruise River Road for easy vantage points to spot a variety of water birds, waterfowl , gulls, and terns particularly in early spring or late fall.
